Giving Iraq Back To Its People

Good News! Thanks to President Barack Obama reducing U.S. Troops from 140,000 in the beginning of 2009 to 47,000 in the beginning of 2011 – which is a 66 percent decrease in troop levels – we are on our way to giving Iraq back to its people.

– U.S. troop deaths have declined

– Iraqi civilian deaths have declined

– Iraqi security forces have increased

– Electricity output is way above pre-Iraq-Invasion-of-2003 levels

– Oil production is now at pre-Iraq-Invasion-of-2003 levels *

* From 2003 to 2007, Iraq pumped less oil out of the ground because of rampant insurgent attacks on the pipelines and other enemy-related issues called “Known Unknowns” and “Unknown Unknowns” by then Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, who was appointed by President George W. Bush.

The Bad News is Afghanistan is as much of a money pit and human resources suck for the U.S. as it was for the Soviet Union. That George W. Bush sure knows how to make a mess, but he doesn’t know how to clean up. Now Barack Obama is cleaning up Bush’s mess.
