Providing Universal Health Care = “Promote the general Welfare”

Providing Universal Health Care = “Promote the general Welfare”

* Everybody needs health care.

** Healthier workers are more productive workers.

*** We make our country stronger by providing every man, woman and child with affordable health care.

Remember, when people lose their jobs – become unemployed – they lose their health care in this country. Thanks to Republican mismanagement of our economy under George W. Bush and the Republican-majority Congress of the 2000s…we had the Wall Street bailout of 2008 and the ensuing Great Recession….$1 Trillion wasted on a false war in Iraq, $1 Trillion wasted on tax cuts for the Super-Rich, and all that time the average American’s wages were stagnant. On top of all that, the majority of Americans lost home equity value and had their 401k/stock portfolios crushed.

It’s time to take care of the majority of Americans. We all deserve affordable health care. According to the Congressional Budget Office, Universal Health Care will save our country money. Yes, Universal Health Care will pool our resources as a country and “Promote the General Welfare” for “the People of the United States.”

Don’t let the insurance companies rip us off anymore. Don’t let the insurance companies deny coverage for pre-existing conditions. Don’t let the insurance companies drop coverage when a sick person makes an insurance claim. That’s bullshit.
