Paint On Canvas…the mind, the eye, the hands that did this thing that over 100 years later still makes us want to stop and look in wonderment

I highly recommend seeing the Impressionism on loan from Paris at the de Young Museum in San Francisco…available for viewing until January 18, 2011.

The exhibit assembles paintings from more than a dozen artists, including Van Gogh, Gauguin, Monet, Degas, Cézanne, Seurat, and Toulouse-Lautrec.

* Get tix for $20 before you go, and save $5 on the price of admission. A little inside tip: even if the exhibit is “sold out” for a particular day, the museum does release a limited number of in-person tickets, which are $25 just like all same-day tickets for this show.

** Always get the audio tour. Always. You don’t have to use it, but it’s there if you would like to hear what the curators have to say about the paintings. Perspective can be mind-expanding. : ) It was $7 well spent for the whole new meaning opened up for me when I was standing in front of “Starry Night Over the Rhone” by Vincent Van Gogh.
