Please spread the Fact & Evidence about Solar Electricity.

“Based on a recent study by ICF Consulting (funded by HUD and the EPA) energysaving measures such as solar can add $20 of home value for every
$1 of yearly energy cost savings.”

* For every dollar saved with solar electricity your home value increases by $20; save $1,000 a year with solar and your equity jumps $20,000.

Rupert Murdoch = Self-Serving…Rupert Murdoch = Propaganda…Rupert Murdoch = Fox News

“[Concerning News Corporation, which includes Fox News] the second largest shareholder after the Murdoch family is a member of the Saudi royal family. Perhaps last week’s revelation that News Corp. has poured $1 million into G.O.P. campaign coffers was a fiendishly clever smokescreen to deflect anyone from following the far greater sum of Saudi money (a $3 billion stake) that has flowed into Murdoch enterprises, or the News Corp. money (at least $70 million) recently invested in a Saudi media company….

The Times first reported on the Park51 plans in a lengthy front-page article on Dec. 9, 2009. The sole exception came some two weeks later at Fox News, where Laura Ingraham, filling in on ‘The O’Reilly Factor,’ interviewed Daisy Khan, the wife of the project’s organizer, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf. Ingraham gave the plans her blessing. ‘I can’t find many people who really have a problem with it,’ she said. ‘I like what you’re trying to do.’

As well Ingraham might. Rauf is no terrorist. He has been repeatedly sent on speaking tours by the Bush and Obama State Departments alike to promote tolerance in Arab and Muslim nations. As Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic reported last week, Rauf gave a moving eulogy at a memorial service for Daniel Pearl, the Wall Street Journal reporter murdered by Islamist terrorists in Pakistan, at the Manhattan synagogue B’nai Jeshurun. Pearl’s father was in attendance….

In the five months after The Times’s initial account there were no newspaper articles on the project at all. It was only in May of this year that the Rupert Murdoch axis of demagoguery revved up, jettisoning Ingraham’s benign take for a New York Post jihad.”

Thanks for the Fande, Frank Rich!

Americans = Muslims

I’m ambivalent. I know how people will take offense to a new Muslim Cultural Center near Ground Zero, the site of the only attack on US Soil from non-citizens since the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. It was an American terrorist who killed 168 people, including children, at the Oklahoma Federal Building in 1995.

(The botched attempt to blow up the World Trade Center in 1993 killed 6 people.)

* Just think how Iraqis feel about the illegal and unjustified invasion of their homeland by the US military. Over 100,000 innocent Iraqi civilians died from our bombing and firefighting, and insurgent battles, since we invaded Baghdad in 2003.

Any citizen of this country has the right to practice religion or not to practice religion. We all have a right to assemble peacefully. Remember, we have allies outside the US who are Muslims. We have citizens in this country who are Muslims. Americans = Muslims.

The 9-11 terrorists are extremists, just like Timothy McVeigh.

It’s best to take people on a case by case basis.

People are surprisingly unpredictable. I have this theory about 50/50. At every moment of every day every person has the chance to do something self-serving or self-sacrificing. Angelica says, “Most people would take advantage, wouldn’t they?” And I told her to try it.

Because we affect the world through our energy. When we respond with a self-sacrificing gesture–holding the door open or waving somebody into the lane of traffic ahead of you with a smile–we influence the environment instantaneously. You can feel it. It’s an energy transference. We’re shaking up air molecules, light molecules, and forming the energy matrix around us.

And it’s not just other people. It’s you. It’s me. I have to check myself every moment of every day. To do more good than bad in a day sometimes requires self-sacrifice. And that’s OK. Whatever makes the air molecules flow more smoothly.

Try it. For yourself and for others. 50/50. People will pleasantly surprise you if you let ‘em. And sometimes they/ we/ you/ me can be total assholes.  Maybe it’s a bad hair day. Maybe a personal loss just happened.

50/50. It’s the least we can do for each other.

Give your fellow human being the benefit of the doubt, and then let he/ she respond. But do your best to set up your fellow human beings for success. Don’t be a sandbagger/ saboteur.

It’s better to be self-sacrificing than self-serving. It’s good for the soul  to “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

Giving requires receiving.

Reciprocation requires both.

Give and Take.

Sharing the Earth.

Sharing the World.

Stay on your toes. There are some crazy people out there. Way more cool people, though.

Shake your ass, but watch ya self.

Go Cee-Lo!
