Tesla IPO

If I had any money I would invest in Tesla Motors. The Roadster accelerates from zero to 60mph in less than 4 seconds! Their sedan – Model S – has a 300 mile range with the upgrade. Charge your car with the solar-electric system on your roof. : )

The company bought a Fremont, CA manufacturing plant from Toyota, which means jobs for California workers. Tesla also secured a $465 million loan from the U.S. Department of Energy. Elon Musk, Tesla Motors CEO and majority stakeholder in the company, also owns Solar City, the solar electricity company. That means between Tesla, the plug-in electric car company, and Solar City, the solar electricity company, Mr. Musk has the CO2-free cars and the CO2-free power stations to fuel those cars.

Tesla also burned through a lot of cash during its start-up days, but established automotive companies Toyota and Daimler came to the rescue by investing roughly $50 million a piece in the electric-car company, according to a report from Reuters.

Mr. Musk most famously sold his invention of PayPal to EBay for $1.5 billion before starting Tesla Motors, Solar City and SpaceX, a space exploration company that plans to launch private tours into space as well as carry cargo to space stations for clients, like NASA.

* Go on a road trip! You can plug in the Tesla cars anywhere you go (solar electricity is best, of course).
